Hold Me Tight Workshop for Cancer-Affected Couples
Most fights arise from feeling emotionally disconnected. Beneath the anguish couples want to know, " Are you there for me"?
The quality of Cancer-Affected Couple’s relationship may be profoundly impacted during cancer. A cancer diagnosis and the accompanying fears sometimes disrupt relationships, creating confusion and difficulties. During and after attending this workshop your reactions will begin to make sense. Couples will learn how to slow down, how to be more connected emotionally and communicate in a healthier way.
There is a need to include the couple when one of the members experience cancer. It is demonstrated that partners of cancer patients could experience even higher levels of psychological symptoms than their cancer partners (Penalba, 2019). These negative effects are clearly stressors on a couple’s relationship and not just the affected individual. However, clinical work typically focuses on the cancer patient and rarely on both partners.
Couples will learn how to connect with their own needs and how to share with their partner. Couples will begin to address the issues that have been difficult to discuss, such as uncertainty, fear of dying, sexuality, intimacy, body image, etc. From this workshop, couples will earn the benefits of a secure and connected relationship.
We have identified the code of love. Now, we know what a good relationship looks and feels like. For the first time, we have a map that can guide us in creating, healing and sustaining a healthy relationship. In this workshop you will learn the necessary tools to reconnect again.

If you're just starting your relationship and want to know how to do it right ... If you've been together for a while and just need a tune-up ... If you've lost that special connection and want to get it back ... If you've tried marriage counseling before without success ... Even if you are thinking about getting divorced ...consider joining the program
The Workshop is taught by two professionals specialized and trained in this technique. This workshop will be completely online through ZOOM and consists of three fundamental conversations to improve the bond in the couple. Each conversation will have two stages: a theoretical content about love and a practical one guiding the couple to conversations. The theoretical content willl be taught altogether. Meanwhile, break out rooms will be used for couples' conversations to ensure comfort and intimacy. The couple will work PRIVATELY and in a safe space to develop the conversation. Couples will go through conversations throughout the encounters and the professionals will be available throughout the process to assist and guide you.
There will be NO asking for sharing experiences if they do not want to. That is, couples will not share any of the intimacy of their conversations with other couples.
Do we end up speaking about our relationship issues in public?
All the exercises are done privately. There are periodic check-ins throughout the encounter where couples can share about how it’s going for them. Sharing is optional and limited after the exercises. No one is expected to share any of their personal challenges or revelations.
